new things!

SO I WENT TO LONDON FOR THE DAY YESTERDAY TO SEE MY DAD AND SISTER FOR LUNCH, AND THEN HEADED OFF TO WESTFIELD FOR A LITTLE SHOPPING SESSION. SPRING IS DEFINITELY IN MIND AND I WANTED SOME BRIGHT COLOURS TO GET AWAY FROM ALL THE BORING BLACK/GREY/BROWN OF WINTER.

  1. Hello from across the pond. Don't know where to post this, but as you mention your pa, here seems as good as any place.

    I was, and still am, a fan of your father's books. Devoured them as they came out. He was one of the best thriller writers in the business, much better than the big names. He was one of a very small number of truly great genre prose stylists.

    Please let him know at your convenience that people still read and enjoy his books. His is too great a talent to easily pass into obscurity.

    Was saddened when he stopped writing. I always hoped he'd one day get another book (or two) out, but alas, it was not to be. I do wonder what his fertile mind would have made of the world since 1981. His was a prophetic talent.

    BTW, I discovered your blog on a link from "Existential Ennui" discussing your father's great book Gentleman Traitor.
